ART bites Lunch time talk Wed 21 October, 12.30pm – 1.00pm
Free event. No bookings required – just drop in and pull up a gallery seat in the first floor exhibition space. Join Dr Miranda Lawry, Senior Lecturer in Photo & Digital Media, University of Newcastle, for a lively 30 minute lunchtime talk, sparking your creative and critical responses to Anne Ferran’s art practice. Miranda will highlight the key themes and significant works on display in the exhibition Shadow Land.

Lurking In The Shadows: a guided walking tour – Saturday 31 October, 6.00pm – 7.30pm. $15 per person, includes treats and refreshments. Free entry for children 12 years & under. Bring a torch and camera. Bookings required, call the Gallery on 4974 5100. It’s time to get ghoulish for the annual night of trick or treating. Dress up and join in the fun of Halloween. Starting at the Newcastle Art Gallery we will be exploring the ghostly works on display in Shadow Land, with Dr Miranda Lawry, before we take you on a short East End Ghost Tour along Hunter St with Renata, Newcastle Ghost Tours, and finish up by listening to the spooky stories in Exhibit A, the art and crime exhibition at The Lock-Up.
