Jemma is a young, emerging artist with a focus on painting and drawing. Her chosen subjects are developed both directly and indirectly from the world around her; a see-saw of personal imagery and abstract thought.
Jemma’s work typically reveals rich, expressive mark-making. She deals mainly in charcoal and synthetic polymer paint, as they are responsive to her physical, intuitive creative pace.
Jemma finds constant inspiration from the work of Richard Diebenkorn and has been more recently influenced by the lively paintings of Gareth Sansom.
As well as developing her own personal artistic ideas, Jemma is also interested in working with the community, through such projects as private and public commissions, portraiture, and group collaborations.
