Mosaics

I was very fortunate 5 years ago to discover a great teacher, Michelle of Dynamic Mosaics. This has allowed me to understand my medium, to make it work its magic and come alive while exploring and expanding my own artistic ideas and talent.

My mosaics are evolving all the time. I work with glass, ceramic tiles, leadlight glass and mirror. I enjoy making mosaic pieces that have a dual purpose; being a useful object, such as a mirror or a table.

At the moment I am exploring 3 dimensional mosaic work and how the placement of each tessera creates movement and life.
I have sold more than a dozen intricate mosaics, completed a few small commissions and a few mosaics are being enjoyed by family and friends.

Bead Work

My Bead Art Work is an unusual art form that allows me to expand and develop my artistic skills. This has evolved from designing, making and beading dance costumes for a dance studio many years ago.

They are hand painted first onto silk, then I hand sew each bead into place. I use seed, bugle and semi precious beads which dress the piece and makes it come alive.

Both art forms are complex in design and time consuming but they reflect the emotion, passion and dedication that goes into them, which inspires me to create more.

I have shown my work at the last 2 Art Bazaars and will have a stall at the Winter Art Bazaar in 2012.
