Everyone has treasure, but not always a place to put it-Treasure chests with silver cutlery handles. Sculptures come and go.

Bronwyn:

I can never remember a time I didn’t draw or paint although it has only been in the last decade I have made more room to develop my artwork, first by becoming more involved with local textile artists through NCEATA, then by developing my skills to reference nature better in my artwork through the  Bachelor of Natural History Illustration at the University of Newcastle NSW. I went on to complete my Honours study using textiles and continue to expand how I work, having joined a small group of fellow artists who inspire and encourage me.

I enjoy the process of making art and many of my works: textiles, drawings, paintings, art to wear, sculptures and murals; reflect nature. I have exhibited in a number of solo and group shows through NSW, with a wide range of media (I’ve never met a medium I don’t like).

With a background in community development and education, joined with my love of creating over the last few years I have unexpectedly brought a number of my interests together. So I am currently a doctoral candidate exploring the use of Natural History Illustration to foster people’s love for our local natural history, which includes a couple of new community murals. I love using art to help others connect with nature, hoping to foster a healthy appreciation of the environment because we protect what we love.

My artworks are currently sold online, through a couple of galleries (including Dungog) and art markets. Artworks sold include originals, plus digital prints on cards, and other decorative items, including fabric. Some of my works are in private collections here and overseas.
