Simon has always had a passion for sketching even at an early age.
He didn’t rekindle his natural talent until attending an open foundation course at Newcastle University in 1999, this led to him being selected as a finalist in The 2000-2001 Doug Moran National Portrait Prize and has had paintings hung in various galleries. His interest in sport has led him to paint and sketch many sporting celebrities.He has been commissioned to paint former Knights Mathew Johns,Darren Albert,Bill Peden & Robbie O’Davis.
Mike Tyson and Jeff Fenech both have some of his work.
After the birth of his first child Keira, his artwork was put on hold for a short while and now with the recent birth of twins Chloe and Aiden his family is complete and this has inspired the return of his art career.
He is now specialising in pencil sketched portraits.
