The Strutt Sisters
Twin sisters Catherine and Jennifer Strutt, The Strutt Sisters, have been exhibiting professionally since 1997 and are well known for their mixed media assemblages, often humourous, often musical. They have lived, and still live, all of their lives as Novacastrians and are proud to say they completed all of their visual art training through Newcastle institutions including The Newcastle Art School where they enjoyed two of the most rewarding years of their lives thanks to the incredibly inspiring artists who taught them.
Since 2006 they have been designing and creating their own unique jewellery. Developed from a need to find lightweight, different and slightly ethnic inspired adornments, the sisters style and choice of materials is born directly from their artmaking technique and has become very popular in the fashion concious community!
They continue to work in their studio at the Newcastle Community Art Centre creating visual artwork for exhibitions and commisions and jewellery for a growing list of stockists and customers.
