This 5 week hands-on course is aimed at beginners who are looking at exploring printmaking using the techniques of dry point and solar plates. Drypoint is an easy and direct way of turning a drawing into a print, a perfect starting point for beginners. Solar plate can be used to replicate both photographs and drawings as a non-toxic alternative to etching without chemicals. Come along to this small and relaxed class to explore the many varied aspects of these techniques as well as feel competent working in a printmaking studio.
Course notes and some materials will be provided. Students will receive a starter pack including printmaking paper, drypoint plates, drypoint tool and 2 x A5 solar plates valued at $35 payable at the first session. Students should bring in photos or images to work with and translate into prints.
