Miranda Earle, a Newcastle artist, designer and printmaker, works in fashion and fabrics in a very unique way. Using various techniques such as block printing and stenciling creates vivid and vibrate patterns from nature.
“The process of sketching ideas from nature to having a garment that has timeless appeal is such a wonderful journey. I love printing fabric…it is something I’ve been doing since I was 16. Also, I find it difficult to throw out clothes, so the garments that I produced are classic and durable. It’s my way of being quietly environmental.”
Miranda has always worked with natural fibers and is making a move towards the eco fibers. She is currently working on a collection showcasing organic cotton, hemp and bamboo fabrics
Miranda and her husband, Justin Montefiore, work from their carbon neutral studio in Teralba.
Miranda has had exhibitions of printed fabric at Honeysuckle complex and her clothes are featured at Lilibud and Honey Bee.
