Exhibition runs until 7 February 2016.

This prize is named in remembrance of the Laman street Fig trees which were removed four years ago this month. The show includes the work of over 40 selected local artists presenting their vision of ‘Celebrating Nature’; the theme of the Prize. Exhibits cover a wide range of media from drawing to metalwork, jewellery and ceramic. This all adds up to an unusual and vibrant exhibition of local art in its different forms.

Entrants must be residents of the Hunter Valley and selected works come from both experienced and emerging artists. Three prizes worth a total of $6,000 will be awarded on the opening night by Kim Blunt, two Best-of-Show ($2,500 each) and one Emerging Artist prize ($1,000). The People’s Choice prize, worth $1,000, will be announced on the last day of the three-week-long exhibition. All who vote for their preferred work will go into a draw to win a dinner for two at Goldbergs in Darby Street.
