A walk up the gentle slope to Nobbys Lighthouse is always rewarding, but this October long weekend will see the historic venue host Hunter Arts Network’s “Coastal Journeys” exhibition. Coastal Journeys is an exclusive Hunter Arts Network member’s exhibition. Hunter Arts Network is well known for organising Art Bazaar, & is now holding their first members exhibition since 2009.

Once visitors complete the climb they will be rewarded with a spectacular view of Newcastle. Nobby’s Lighthouse is perched atop the famous Nobby’s Headland making the most of the beautiful 360 degree views.

Choc or Latte Express serves tea, coffee, cakes and other light refreshments on the headland however visitors are welcome to pack their own supplies.

The grounds of Nobbys Lighthouse enjoy sweeping views across the Pacific Ocean, making this an ideal location to spot graceful whales so these October school holidays, take a front row seat for the annual migration of an estimated 20,000 humpback whales, Newcastle’s prime position ensures locals and visitors will be treated to some of the country’s best whale watching vantage points.

The exhibition will be opened by Sharon Claydon MP at 2pm on Saturday 4 October.

Entries will be judged by Chris Fussell of Crowtrap Studio. Chris is a highly accomplished artist who has been working as an artist since 1968. Chris paints in Acrylics, printmaking, drawing & sculpture & excels in landscapes. There are two first place prizes of $500 cash each

We also look forward to sharing Nobby’s Lighthouse with local artist Dino Consalvo who will take up residence in one of the other cottages from Monday 29 September to Monday 13 October. Visit Dino’s website – http://dinoconsalvo.com/
