TIME PROGRAMME
6.00 – 6.10 INTRODUCTION: What is Professional Practice?
How to present yourself and your art professionally.
6.10 – 7.00 GUEST SPEAKER: Rieteka Geursen
TOPIC: Professional and Archiving Framing
Rieteka will cover various framing approaches for artworks including things you can do to present your works in a professional manner. Also covers the pros and cons of various framing materials so you are informed when talking to your framer or choosing the right approaches for doing it yourself.
7.00 – 8.00 NETWORKING: Cheese platters, juice, tea and coffee supplied.

Rieteka has 15 years framing experience and specialises in framing artwork, objects and anything requiring conservation framing.

Running in conjunction on the night is an opportunity to have your work professionally photographed by Shannon Hartigan.

We have the use of TAFE’s photography studio. All you have to do is bring along 2-3 pieces of your work (unframed, ie no glass) and Shannon will take photos of them.
It is so important to have professional photos to promote your work on websites, for ArtBazaar and for entering competitions for art prizes – often this is the first time the public will see your work.
There are only 12 places available and the cost is $25 per person. You can drop off your pieces (your name, phone number and email address attached), attend the talk and network while Shannon works his magic.
Your high resolution and web ready photos will be supplied on disc.
