SCHOOL HOLIDAY WORKSHOPS FOR JULY ARE NOW ENROLLING

In July the Gallery will present sculpture workshops based on the paintings by Ildiko Kovacs that are included in the exhibition Laverty 2 which is currently on display.During her recent talk at the Gallery, Kovacs mentioned that she has a continuing interest in creating a sculptural version of her work and the workshops will respond to this idea. Affectively drawing with wire and creating shapes related to those within the paintings, students will create the armature for a sculpture. Then using plaster bandage, they will create a three dimensional version of Kovak’s two dimensional works.
Workshops for lower primary students (5 – 8 year olds) will take place on Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th July from 10.30am – 12.30pm.
Workshops for upper primary students ( 9 – 12 years old) will take place Thursday 14th and Friday 15th July from 10.30am – 12.30pm.
