Expressive, bursts of energy, strength of colour, and wall power are just some of the adjectives or phrases to describe Phil Stallard’s recent exhibition of paintings.

Building on the previous work at Cooks Hill Galleries, presented over the past 3 years, Phil’s abstract paintings are a welcome addition to the galleries stable of contemporary artist.

This new body of work is ideal for contemporary homes, satisfying the need for colour to offset architectural strength. It tames the wall spaces! The paintings have an uplifting quality and the use of symbolic shapes and motives are a familiar theme.

Stallard gains much inspiration from the past and recent time where he explores the bush-scapes of the Hawkesbury River, north of Sydney and closer to Newcastle Redhead to Dudley its escarpments and coastline. More recently his Sydney series has engaged him and delighted followers.

Works on paper are available at very moderate prices and accompany the oils and mixed media compositions for this exhibition

Stallard’s art represents good buying, providing an entry point for young buyers or value conscious art buyers. His style will refresh any interior with exciting incendiary like bursts of colour and tone!
