The new Dungog Festival is the reinvention of the hugely popular film festival in Dungog under a community-owned model and which has received partnership funding from Destination NSW for the next 3 years.
Film is the focus of the festival but the Arts Foundation operating the festival want it to be more, and they have created many inclusions to make the festival an exciting attraction for visitors to the Dungog Shire and Hunter region. They want the visiting tourists to know what a fabulous place the Hunter region is not just during the film festival but that it is a place you can return to time and time again.
The Flickering Night Market (Friday 29th Aug) is an opportunity for local designers, craftspeople and artisans to showcase their talents to a massive captive audience that has traditionally attracted large crowds from the city. There is also a Sunday Farmers market for farmers and producers interested in sending home with the guests their own slice of heaven from the country.
Farmers, vegetable growers, fruit growers, beef and lamb producers, fine food purveyors, cheese makers, olive growers, wine makers, foodies and good coffee stalls needed. Apply online.
