Maitland City Council’s new ‘Arts About Town’ grant program opens this Friday 23 June. The program invites artists to create temporary and semi-permanent works for public spaces, streets and laneways across the city identified as being in need of transforming and revitalising. Arts About Town invites submissions from all art disciplines including, but not limited to visual artists (including multimedia, printmaking, sculpture and textile), performers, filmmakers, storytellers and designers.

To support artists in developing their concept and creating great applications Council have teamed up with the team at Octapod to hold a grant information workshop on Thursday 6 July 2017 at Maitland Regional Art Gallery.

Visit http://www.maitland.nsw.gov.au/creative-streets. Artists are encouraged to RSVP to the workshop and direct any questions to Council’s Place Activation Officer (project manager) on (02) 4931 2858 or at amber.herrmann@maitland.nsw.gov.au.
