FREE art sundays (children of all ages)

Every Sunday, MRAG hosts art events and activities just for children. Activities change with every exhibition and are free to the public. No need to book, just pop into the gallery between the hours of 11am – 1pm.

Pipsqueak Tours (children 2-6 and their carers)

In this special program for little ones, children aged 2-6 and their carers can come and learn about selected artworks on exhibition across the gallery. Inspired by the artworks children and their carers then sit together and create their own little masterpiece.

Bookings are required.

FREE exhibition activity booklets

(early childhood and early primary school age children)

MRAG provides fun, activity booklets with selected exhibitions, designed for the use of parents, caregivers, and educators to assist children interpreting and observing artworks.

Beginners & intermediate classes for teenagers aged 13 – 18 high school students only.

Time: 4:00pm – 5:30pm wednesdays

Cost: $110 members / $160 non members

This is a studio art group designed for teens. each term, students are introduced to a range of mediums and processes showcased across the exhibitions on display, with a strong focus on drawing skills. Teen classes are facilitated by local emerging artists and are an effective way to develop the skills learnt at high school.

Art Wednesdays

Art Wednesdays is a studio art group designed for teens. each term, the students are introduced to a range of mediums and processes showcased across the exhibitions on display, and there will also be a focus on building drawing skills.

In the media lounge, a range of books, journals and education resources are available so that students can use the studio session as study for secondary school creative subjects. the art wednesdays sessions are facilitated by a trained secondary visual arts teacher.
