WELL CONNECTED by ELSIE RANDALL at NEWCASTLE ART SPACE IN GALLERY 1
Process and technique are integral to the work of Newcastle based artist Elsie Randall. Elsie, who is a Bundjalung/Yaegl woman, describes the process of her art as one of healing and of storytelling. For the last thirty years, Elsie has shared her healing through art with local Aboriginal children and families who live in the Lower and Upper Hunter, Port Stephens and Coalfields areas. Her solo exhibition entitled Well Connected tells the story of her life, family, community, tradition and history
ALONG THE WAY WITH YOU + SOMEONES HOME IN GALLERY 2
HANNAH SIMONOVICH & JEREMY ROBINSON
Hannah Simonovich’s art is a depiction of the artist’s internal experience of an emotional response to the natural world. Along the Way with You is a representation of the artists emotional and psychological response to her surroundings. Jeremy Robinson’s use of metal and steel to communicate themes of presence and place is both nostalgic and poetic. Robinsons sensitivity and expertise in working his material is evident in his exhibition Someone’s Home.
