SUBTEXT is an exhibition that explores the links between literature and the visual arts. Taking place in conjunction with the Newcastle Writers Festival (4-6 April 2014), a group of local artists have been asked to read a book by a Newcastle writer participating in the festival and use it as the inspiration for an artwork. In their own art form, each artist has created a visual narrative based on and inspired by the book.

Rosemarie Milsom, manager of the Newcastle Writers Festival will open the exhibition.  Join with us for a fabulous celebration of the artists and writers that make up Newcastle’s rich cultural community.

The exhibition, curated by Dr Margaret McBride runs from 28 March to 13 April 2014.
