The Museum of Art and Culture, yapang (MAC yapang) is thrilled to be hosting the prestigious Archibald Prize 2022 regional tour from 8 April – 21 May.
To support the exhibition MAC yapang will also host the Young Archie Lake Macquarie competition. The Young Archie runs alongside the Archibald Prize and is a celebration of young Australian talent – inviting artists between the ages of 5 and 18 to submit a portrait of ‘someone who is special to them and plays a significant role in their life’.

IMPORTANT DATES
- Opening Event for Finalist and their families Sunday 26 March 1pm – 2.30pm
- Entries must be received before 12 March 2023
- Finalists will be displayed to the public 23 March – 21 May 2023
- Finalists and winners will be announced on 24 March 2023
- Works not selected will be returned by post (if stamped envelope supplied) 23 – 26 April 2023
