ConnectAbility staff and participants were delighted to receive a visit from Tim Owen, Member for Newcastle who brought a cheque to present to ConnectAbility that will allow them to upgrade their art space. The cheque was presented to Maree, one of ConnectAbility’s artists and Bryan McLoughlin CEO. The funds were presented on behalf of NSW Minister for Disability Services John Ajaka.

The funds will allow ConnectAbility to make the space more comfortable during the winter and summer by installing a roof, lighting and air-conditioning. This will mean more people will be able to take part in an activity that they love and more ConnectAbility and community artists will have a place to work.

They have booked the builders and it will only be a few days before the transformation is complete.
