One Day – Drawing Bugs, Beetles, Butterflies and Other Dead Things

Tuesday 13th January, 10am-1pm.

Come and practice the art of Natural History Illustration, by drawing from life using a handheld magnifying glass and a collection of specimens, flies, mozzies, bugs, crabs, beetles, feathers. Or bring your own critters in! You can even dissect and draw the body parts! After initial sketches, teaching you to observe detail you will be shown how to use the light box to trace and colour your specimen on to high quality paper, you can even label it with its scientific name like a real Natural History or Scientific Illustrator!

Cost $35.

Two Day – Intro to Fused Glass, Copper Foiling, and Mosaics

Wednesday 14th – Thursday 15th January, 10am-2pm both days.

Try your hand at three small projects using the techniques of glass fusing, copper foiling and mosaics. You could create a glass fused pendant, or magnets, a copper foiled sun catcher, a mosaic name plate or something of your own design! Especially designed for primary or high school students to have a go at the things offered in some of our most popular adult workshops. Comeback the second day to finalise the three processes you have learnt, and add a little bling! Perfect for girls and boys from about 9 and up. Great value opportunity to try these three techniques and walk away with three of your own creations.

One Day – Painting Your Favourite Landscape

Monday 19th January 10am – 1pm.

Do you have a favourite place you have always wanted to translate into a painting? Bring in a photo or choose from some pictures provided. Learn how to paint on to a canvas and go home with your very own masterpiece to hang on your wall!

Two Day – Intensive Drawing Workshop

Tuesday 20th – Wed 21st January 10am-2pm both days.

Designed for high school or mature primary school students, age 10+, this intensive drawing workshop will use exercises inspired by the renowned ‘drawing on the right side of the brain’ book by Betty Edwards. We will use graphite and charcoal to hone your skills and technique and then loosen you up and help you find your own style and confidence. We will even do some Life Drawing!

You will never draw the same again!

One Day – Batik Basics

Thursday 22nd January 10am-1pm.

Using the traditional techniques of wax resist dying, you will put your own awesome design on to fabric. Learn the batik process, how to apply wax and colour, and create a fabric art master piece you could later turn into a bag, cushion cover or wall hanging.

Cost$35.

Recommended for primary school age children.
