Please join us at Back to Back Galleries (57 Bull St, Cooks Hill) at 6pm Friday September 30th for the opening of Chrysalis – an exhibition featuring the work or artists Elizabeth McDonald and Martin McKenzie.

The exhibition runs from Sept 30 to Oct 16 (Fri-Sun 11-5).

Chrysalis is an exploration of the natural world and the process of transformation, through portrayal of the landscape and the creatures that are contained within. This exhibition is also a reflection of personal change and metamorphosis.
The collection of work includes ink on paper and canvas, photo media and mixed media works: acrylic, ink, found objects and pastel on paper and canvas.
In writing on an earlier exhibition, Jill Stowell described the artists’ work as “atmospheric.”
Martin and Elizabeth have previously exhibited in the Hunter Region as well as in Sydney. They both have studied Fine Art at a tertiary level at The University of Newcastle and The College of Fine Arts, and live and work within the Newcastle area.
