When Spring Art Bazaar comes to Singleton, it will showcase a variety of artistic talent.
The fair, organised by Hunter Arts Network (HAN), will land in Singleton for the first time next month.
Throughout its 10-year existence, Art Bazaar has grown from a Newcastle City Council concept to an anticipated cultural event.
One of the artists set to amaze local residents is artist-blacksmith Will Maguire.
For more than a decade, Mr Maguire has been fine-tuning and perfecting his craft – one which tends to be a rarity these days.
Not only does he sell and exhibit at art fairs, Mr Maguire also creates one-of-a-kind bespoke pieces.
“It’s really interesting work and people love it when they’ve come to you with this baby idea and it becomes a reality,” he told Hunter Valley News.
Despite disliking art at school, the artist began his apprenticeship before an overseas trip inspired him to consider working more on the creative side.
Fast-forward to today and little could be more inspiring than his work place – the artist-blacksmith transformed an old countryside dairy into a fully-operational workshop.
There will be many more unique items for sale from various artists at Spring Art Bazaar.
For more information on how to order a special piece of manufactured steel from Will Maguire, phone 0423 289 648, or visit www.willblacksmith.com.au
Catch all the Spring Bazaar action on Sunday, September 8, at Civic Centre Green, Singleton, from 10am to 3pm.
