HAN is proud to be a supporter of Independent Galleries Newcastle again in 2019. HAN will also be returning to the IGN Art Fair at Newcastle Art Gallery on Friday 26 July 5-8pm and/or Saturday 27 July 10am-3pm and HAN members are being invited to participate on the night. There is no fee to our members. Simply come along with a couple of pieces of your artwork (which you can sell on the night!) and help represent our organisation on our stall. Spaces will be first in first served. Please advise what items you will be bringing to determine if we need screens/tables/plinths and your own point of sale system if you have one. Conditions: The work must be of high quality and selection is at HAN’s discretion. We are restricted by the space available as participants will have a small space on or near our display, not a separate stall, and small works only will only be accepted (50cm x 50cm or smaller), and depending on numbers up to three items per person.
The Newcastle Art initiative was founded in 2016 by Newcastle based artist and gallery owner, Ahn Wells in order to advocate, support and promote independent and artist-run galleries located in Newcastle, Australia. By creating this group, Wells aims to lift the profile of self-funded Newcastle galleries to the wider community in order to ensure the long-term sustainability of these important gallery spaces to art and artists in Newcastle and beyond.
