L!vesites Newcastle is calling for Expressions of Interest from artists who would like to exhibit their work/s as part of the inaugural outdoor Waste Knot Want Knot event on the weekend of the 26th and 27th of June.

The scope for the artistic piece is that it should be a large significant piece of robust construction using recycled materials and able to withstand the weather elements.

The artistic pieces must meet the structural and risk management guidelines of Newcastle City Council. Artists are able to request that their pieces be displayed in certain places to best exhibit their works, however L!vesites will make the final decision on placement.

The exhibition will be held along the Newcastle Harbour, stretching from the Honeysuckle Precinct through to Nobbys Beach. This event will follow on from the Waste as Art exhibition in Maitland to allow for artistic pieces to be exhibited at both venues.

As the pieces will be remaining in the exhibition overnight there will be security guards on patrol in the area to ensure safety.

Entries will be judged by both the general public and artistic judges with the most popular exhibits being recognized in the local media.

To be considered for the exhibition artists must submit either a photo or artistic impression of their artistic piece to L!vesites.
The closing date for submissions is 28th May.
