It was a picture perfect day with stunning lake views for Autumn Art Bazaar last Sunday 10 March, which brought out a large crowd who admired & acquired many inspirational & creative pieces.
This year marked the second Autumn Art Bazaar on the grounds of Lake Macquarie City Art Gallery. Co-ordinated by non-profit Hunter Arts Network (HAN), the event promotes 100 artists & designers from the Hunter.
The effort put into the day paid off with very successful results, the 4000-strong supportive crowd packed out the impressive gallery grounds, saw a fantastic day of sales, as well as increased patronage to the Gallery.
‘It is always a great day”, said Gallery Director Debbie Abraham, “with HAN and the Gallery working together to provide a plethora of creative experiences for visitors of all ages and interests, while supporting local practitioners.”
Autumn Art Bazaar wasn’t the only event on Sunday by the lake. The nearby Loop the Lake & Lake Macquarie Rowing Club also contributed to a busy day, and Lake Macquarie City Art Gallery kept the younger ones entertained with free kids art activities.
Art Bazaar creates the ideal platform to educate the community to invest in locally produced high quality visual arts, craft & design: “All participants need to go through a formal application process assessed by a panel of Art Professionals in order to participate – this way HAN can guarantee a very high standard”, Leah Fawthrop, President of HAN.
Art Bazaar has developed a loyal following and allows Artisans to exhibit their work outside of a formal gallery. With the partnership of major sponsor Moray and Agnew Lawyers, the seasonal Art Bazaars continue to grow & flourish.
The upcoming Winter Art Bazaar will be held on the grounds of Maitland Regional Art Gallery on Sunday 9 June & the next Art Bazaar Cruise Market at Newcastle Museum is coming up on Sunday 24 March.
