Moray & Agnew Lawyers and Hunter Arts Network are pleased to announce a partnership arrangement that will see the four seasonal Art Bazaars held across the Hunter flourish and grow.
Art Bazaar is now in its tenth year and has been growing in popularity and size since the very first Art Bazaar held in Laman Street under the gorgeous fig trees. Hunter Arts Network (HAN) planned to start seasonal Art Bazaars and has held their first Autumn Art Bazaar in the grounds of Lake Macquarie Art Gallery, and Winter Art Bazaar in the grounds of the Maitland Regional Art Gallery. They were both great days and very successful with fantastic and supportive crowds on the day. The lucky door prizes proved to be a popular development as does our artist demonstration programme as people have a keen interest in watching Artists be creative. We are now looking forward to the first Spring Art Bazaar in the grounds of the Hunter Valley Gardens Village green on Sunday 9th September 10am – 3pm. The Summer Art Bazaar in Newcastle moved from Laman St to Civic Park two years ago which has seen an increase in the number of stalls and crowds of over 10,000.
Art Bazaar has developed a loyal following and allows Artisans to exhibit their work outside of a formal gallery. “Newcastle has a fantastic art scene however not everyone will enter galleries, so Art Bazaar provides the perfect setting for people to see established and emerging Artists in a great environment” said Leah Fawthrop, President of The Hunter Arts Network. “Our Artisans practice in a variety of mediums and we also include designers – originality, quality and variety is the key to Hunter Arts Network membership.”
“Partnering with Moray & Agnew Lawyers means we can start Artist development programmes and look at establishing the four Art Bazaars as tourist events worthy to travel for and we can further the reputation of Newcastle and the Hunter as a hotbed of Artistic talent”. Said Ms Fawthrop
Having the Corporate support of the calibre of Moray & Agnew Lawyers champion emerging
Artistic talent is an exciting time for the HAN membership as we can develop a platform to exhibit in a corporate environment and further the careers of Artists.
