RAW Newcastle is proud to announce to the launch of AXIS.
On Friday, 10th October, AXIS will bring together 30+ local emerging artists spanning fashion, music, visual and performing arts, music and more for a one night extravaganza at the The Great Northern Hotel.
Showcase Director Kristen Wehlow is excited to once again be showcasing some of the city’s best emerging talent in front of hundreds of captivated patrons.
“Our first show this year at The Great Northern was a brilliant success. Hundreds of people came to the event and there was not a single big name ‘established’ artist on the bill. Novocastrians are clearly excited about the wealth of homegrown talent in their own city.”
“There is a new landscape for artists today. Traditional forums and paths for showcasing art have dried up or are not longer proving as effective. RAW is giving emerging artists a platform from which to launch their creative careers in a world where everyone is vying for attention.”
“We hope to give a voice to emerging artists in Newcastle from all creative backgrounds. RAW is not only about art, but also about community, and we hope to continue to build and add to that here in Newcastle.”
WHO RAW:natural born artists is an independent arts organisation, for artists, by artists. RAW’s mission is to provide independent artists of all creative genres, with the tools, resources and exposure needed to inspire and cultivate creativity. RAW connects artists with one another so that they might grow together.
