Hi my name is Trudi Vitnell. I am a local artist, having lived in Newcastle most of my life. I left a nursing career 2 years ago and transitioned to retirement easily due to my love of art, painting and being creative. Learning different mediums with the help of my artist sister and teacher Jayne Pinkerton-Frost. She has taught me with her support and guidance to be more relaxed in my creative journey. Living close to the beach gave me the inspiration to capture our beautiful coastline using bright colours, curves and lines. I paint mainly with watercolours but also like using oil pastels and acrylics. The artwork “Cliff To Bar” is an image of the beach I frequently walk daily, I love how the waves leave their footprint in the sand and the ocean has many rich shades of blue and green and is forever changing. I hope to continue painting and feel very grateful that others like my art, nothing can be more flattering than seeing my work hung up on a wall.
