Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th August – A two day Workshop for experienced Quilters.   9.30am – 4.00pm   Cost $120

On the first day the art quilting background will be cut and pieced using improvised techniques.   The second day will focus on the preparation, shaping and application of the bias strips in varying ways.

Wendy has been successful in obtaining her Teaching Accreditation with QuiltNSW and as a result, currently conducts workshops in a variety of patchwork and quilting disciplines.   A winner of numerous awards she has exhibited Australia wide and also in the USA.

Saturday 1st September Oil Painting for Beginners.  10.30am – 1pm    Cost $35

Facilitator Jenny Crozier.

This Workshop is for Beginners or Intermediate level.   It will focus on the basics of colour theory and composition and how to use oils and mediums.  Three primary colours will be used Red, Yellow and Blue and mixing these 3 in different ratios and combinations will give all the colours needed to create a landscape.

A well known Tilligerry Artist Jenny’s first exhibited work was shown at the age of twelve.   Over the years she has won a total of 100 awards, 58 of which were achieved in the Newcastle area.  Not surprisingly, Jenny’s work is much in demand and is displayed in many private and corporate collections in Australia and overseas.

Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th of September Botanical Watercolours.    10.30am – 1.30pm   Cost $50

Facilitator Jan Freeman.

This two day Workshop provides the opportunity to focus thoughtfully and closely upon flowers, fruits and features of plants.  Botanical painting is all about layering colours. An initial wash of paint will be put on paper:  Then paints are mixed.

Support will be given about where to start and when to stop, drying parts with hair dryer then stretching the painting once it is finished to remove “cockling” of the paper.

Jan is a member of BASA (Botanical Art Society of Australia), who have previously accepted her prints for sale at the Bi-annual exhibition at the Royal Botanical Gardens Melbourne.   She produces Botanical illustration of Flora and Fauna, all painted in non-toxic watercolour and/or Gouache, on Archival quality paper, using the finest artist quality “light fast” paints.

Thursday 13th September Abstract Painting.    10.30am – 12.30pm    Cost $20

Facilitator Joy Wilton.

Participants will be introduced to the style of Abstraction and its elements by looking at the work of Jackson Pollock.  The basic principles of the elements of art eg harmony, contrast etc will be discussed as well as paint mixing.

Joy Wilton is a long time member of TAG.   She has created many beautiful abstract paintings over the years and is well qualified to lead this Workshop.

Saturday 15th September Acrylic Pour Painting.    10.30am – 12.30pm    Cost $35

Facilitator June Orr.

The Workshop will focus on new mediums, shapes and colour mixes, adding a selection of mediums with the acrylic paints and applying acrylic paints on top of each other.  Guidance will be given with pouring on to the canvas and using the blow torch.

June was honoured to accept the position of International Juror for ArtMaster Australia International in 2018, becoming the first Australian artist granted this prestigious title.   She is a watercolour tutor for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and has a passion for seascapes and marine life.

Wednesday 26th September Pottery and Ceramic Art.   10.30am – 12.30pm   Cost $50

Facilitator Helen Jackson.

This Workshop will focus on the use of pre-rolled clay, templates and prepared slurry to create at least 2 pieces.  They will be bisque fired later by the Facilitator.

Helen Jackson is a well known Port Stephens ceramic artist who has an affinity with the ocean, beach and lush forest environments.   She has won numerous awards and continues to display her work in a wide variety of Exhibitions.
